PAHS MEETING OF NOVEMBER 15TH 2010


The meeting was called to order by Chris at the PACE MEETING ROOM in Glenbrook Middle School.  Those attending were Theresa Bialozynski, Harry Slezewski, Larry Puzen, Larry Szymanski, Jim Zajac, Pam Mannigel, Sharon Bauer, Marian Schroeder, Pat Budz, Bea and Dick Valley and Chris Jaworski.  Absent were Tammy, Rocky and Norine.

The Secretary’s report of September 27th meeting was read by Bea Valley.  After corrections were made, there was a motion by Harry to accept the minutes.  The motion was seconded by Larry Puzen.  Motion carried.

Larry presented a complete report from December 31st, 2009 through November 15th 2010.  The check book balance on 11/15/2010 is $8,964.35.  A motion to accept the treasurer’s report as presented was made by Harry Slezewski and seconded by Larry Puzen.

Larry had information from the energy audit.  We can save some money by replacing the exit signs, the front dehumidifier and blocking the drafts of the upstairs window.  Insulation of the upstairs was felt to be too expensive at this time.  Jim Zajac will get the new exit signs.  Larry also presented a budget which is needed to apply for the AASLH grant.  FYI the income tax report from October 2009 through September 30th has to be sent to the State by February 15th, 2010.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS for 2011:  Larry Szymanski agreed to be Treasurer.  Larry Puzen made a motion to accept Larry as our treasurer.  Harry seconded the motion.  Motion carried.  A motion was made by Diane to accept Norine as Secretary, Sharon seconded the motion.  Motion carried.  Pat resigned as Vice President.  A motion to accept Larry Puzen as our Vice President was made by Harry and seconded by Jim Zajac.  Motion carried.  Mike Blohowiak will fill out Larry’s position of board member.  Chris agreed to be our president for one more year.  A motion to accept Chris as our president was made by Larry Puzen and seconded by Larry Szymanski.  Motion carried.  Marian our curator will have an assistant curator, Pat Budz.

Pat reported that the fall bake sale profit was $450.90.  She thanked all those who helped.  Larry mentioned that other members sent in donations.  The Annual Dinner was a success.  Here too, Pat thanked those who were of help.  Ruth of Marnocha Barbers and Stylists gave an interesting history presentation of the Marnocha Barber Shop.  Lori Stephan of Country Pride Real Estate received the Historic Structure Award for restoration of the Blue Moon Tavern Building.  This award is given yearly.

Chris noted that Professor Brendan would be here December 4th between 10:00 and 10:30.  She and the 4 students will be at the museum for about 2 hours.  Discussed will be the grant and their proposal of what the intern intends to accomplish.  She/he will be here for 20 hours per week for 6 weeks this summer.  Among the grant paper work is the need for a project director.  Larry Puzen, Marian and Jim Zajac will work together.

The Chamber Members have been asked for donations for Frosty’s Holiday event.  A motion was made to give the Chamber of Commerce $50 by Larry Puzen and seconded by Jim Zajac.  Motion carried.

The Stone Barn donation will be brought up at the next meeting.

Marian talked about the Spring Newsletter.  John will get some ideas to Marian.  Pat mentioned that she got a letter asking if our group would like to have a booth at the Oconto September Fly In.  She passed the information to Chris.

Chris read a few thank you notes.

A motion to adjourn was made by Jim and seconded by Diane at 9:30 p.m.
