The secretary’s report from the 3/22/10 meeting was read by Norine. A minor correction was made and then Harry Slezewski made a motion to accept the report and it was seconded by Sharon Bauer. Motion carried.

The treasurer’s report was read by Larry Szymanski. The checkbook balance as of 04/26/2010 was $10,374.52 with cash received of $3,088.00 less expenses of $803.28. Kathleen Gerds donated $300.00 to the Stone Barn Fund and Gannett Newspaper said they will match that donation.  Our dues should run from January - December.  Any collected after October 1st can be applied for the following year.  Norine should send the renewal letters out the end of January. She apologized for sending notices to some people who had already paid their dues. Once she realized that, she called those involved and explained. Larry Puzen made a motion to accept the report and Pat seconded. Motion carried.

Website – Tammy said we have had 227 hits so far. She added a link to the centennial site. Once the brochures are updated, she will add them. Centennial souvenirs are available at Dynamic Designs. The $25 yearly domain fee is due. Pat made a motion to pay the fee. Harry seconded. Motion carried.

Centennial – Tammy reported there was a good turnout at the April 9th kick off. The speakers were good. Pat, Marian and Chris all attended and said it was well done. The next Centennial event will occur 05/31/10 Memorial Day – Honor to local veterans.

Spring Newsletter – Marian thanked everyone who helped get it out on time. The cost was $230.77 with Fine Line Graphics donating $99.00 of printing. We used the chamber of commerce mail permit and saved about $44.00 in postage. We mailed 216 for a cost of $55.95.

Marian also had the bill for the framing of the Casimir Pulaski portrait of $67.50. Claudia Ryzckowski needs to be reimbursed for getting that done.

Stone Barn Update – Chris reported on the event hosted by Mel Lightner.  He estimated 70-80 people attended. Chris gave a presentation of the past, present and future plans for the site.  He explained the grants that are available.  Two thirds of the barn will be an open pavilion that could be used for weddings, reunions or corporate events. The other third will be converted into a museum featuring agricultural items. Mr. Lightner donated $1,000.00 at the end of the evening. John Mihalko also attended and said it was a great way for the people attending to learn more about the barn project.  Harry said he’s gotten comments from people concerned that we’re sending our items to a different county. Larry suggested we check to see if our items would be covered under our insurance if they are moved to a different location.

John asked what the word “area” means in our name. He thought it meant the school district and that does include our surrounding counties of Oconto and Shawano. A discussion was made as to whether people realize when they donate to the museum; they give us permission to decide what or how to display it.  Jim suggested we ask our membership at the annual meeting if they wish to donate to the Stone Barn fund. Tammy made a motion to bring it up to our annual membership that we should donate $5,000.00 over a two year period. Norine seconded the motion.  Nine were in favor, two abstained.

John was told the old photos will be hung in the hallway once the walls have been redone.

He also checked with the PHS shop teacher who said he would make the plaque for the people who    were instrumental in getting Pulaski incorporated. The sizes were discussed but we need to come up with the wording. Marian had a couple suggestions.

Museum Hours – Pat said the Valleys will no longer be available for Thursdays. It will be open on           Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 to 4:00. Marian, John and Doris will man those hours.  It will be open on the first Wednesday of the month in June, July and August from 6:00 – 8:00pm. Tammy will be there for those times.  It will be open during Polka Days on Saturday from 10 – 3 with Sharon & Diane.  We will look into volunteers for the Farmers Markets and Centennial events.

Museum Clean Up Date – Wed. May 19th from 9:00am – 12:00pm Supplies will be provided. Donuts & coffee will be served.

Chris reported Keith Chambers would like the new village hall built where the current library is and suggested the museum be located there as well.

Larry Szymanski said the federal income taxes are due May 15th but he has not received the paperwork needed to change our fiscal year.  John made a motion to file for an extension and Bob seconded. Larry will file for the extension. Once this is finalized, it should be put in the bylaws.

Marian sent a thank you card around for us to sign for the Joswick family for their generous donation to the museum.

Artifacts – John is putting together 20 different categories. Tammy suggested using the Pulaski News students to record the information he collects in a database.
